School of Babywearing™ invites babywearing organisation partnerships

The recently launched social enterprise School of Babywearing™ is in the process of inviting like-minded organisations to join them to champion the cause of babywearing, or baby wearing as it’s sometimes called. More and more parents in the UK are choosing to ‘wear’ their babies and toddlers in slings and baby carriers and research shows that there are long-term health and social benefits for parents and children.

“We’re passionate about babywearing and as an organisation our mission is to promote the benefits and practice of babywearing widely throughout the UK and beyond, reaching both expectant and new parents as well as professionals who support parents and people who sell slings and baby products. We want to make sure that parents across the UK are able to access the help they need to feel confident about wearing their babies.” explains Karen Hunt, co-founding director.

“We’ve now included a page on our website that lists lots of companies and other organisations that promote babywearing. So whether you’re a baby sling or carrier manufacturer, retailer, run a sling library or similar then please do get in touch and we’ll include you on the list.”

Course Director, Victoria Ward continues, “We offer the only accredited babywearing training in the UK, allowing people to qualify as Babywearing Consultants. For those companies that want to get more involved we are launching a partnership programme which will involve things like donating slings which will be used on our babywearing workshops and courses in exchange for a more detailed listing for example. We also welcome interesting and informative articles to include on our website.”

Other initiatives will be announced shortly so sign up to receive the School’s newsletter to be kept up to date with the latest developments.
