A few days ago, I shared on Facebook a photo of a lovely painting I received from a friend. She brought back from her travel in Kenya the most adorable painting of a babywearing mother with her baby on her back.
Today, I’d like to share a vintage babywearing postcard I thrifted many moons ago. The card says 64-Congo Français [what is now the Republic of Congo] Mission Catholique de Brazzaville. Maman et Bébé. There is no date or printer details. It is hard to see the details but the way the child looks straight at the camera is intriguing.
Have you tried wrapping your baby on your back with a simple piece of cloth? With a bit of practice, it’s not as hard as you think and very convenient when you don’t have any other baby sling handy. For a bit of help, join our next babywearing training course.
Have you ever found images of babywearing parents in books, postcards, or exhibitions? We’d love to see them so don’t hesitate to share them here.
