School of Babywearing™ 2011 UK Workshops & Courses dates announced

Social enterprise, The School of Babywearing™ is pleased to announce the 2011 schedule for its Babywearing workshops and courses.

According to Course Director, Victoria Ward, “The Introduction to Babywearing Workshops are half-day courses ideal for parents and professionals who want to know more about babywearing and the range of slings and baby carriers available. It’s also a great introduction for people interested in developing their training further.” She adds, “Babies and toddlers are also very welcome!”

Current dates and locations for the Introduction to Babywearing Workshops are: Exeter on Saturday 2nd July 10:30am – 12:30pm; Cambridge on Friday 8th July 10:30am – 12:30pm; Birmingham on Thursday 4th August 10:30am – 12:30pm and London Friday 18th November 10:30am – 12:30pm. The Level 3 Certificate in Babywearing is accredited by OCN, one of the UK’s leading vocational accreditation bodies and qualifies participants to become Babywearing Consultants.

Victoria explains, “The Level 3 Course has 3 units; The Principles of Babywearing; Anatomy, Physiology & Development for Babywearing; and Practical Skills of Babywearing. The course runs over two days (usually a weekend) and then attendees have around three months to complete the coursework before returning for a final day of training.”

2011-2012 dates and locations for the Level 3 Certificate in Babywearing are: Cambridge on 13-14 August & Saturday 19 November; Birmingham on 29-30 October & Saturday 21 January; and London on 4-5 February & Saturday 19 May.

Co-founding Director, Karen Hunt, adds, “We’ve had a fantastic response to both the introduction workshops and level 3 course so far, but places are still available so please go to our website or call us to sign up for a course that interests you.”

In addition the School has been contacted to develop specialist training on behalf of other organisations which will run in late 2011 and early 2012 and are keen to hear from any other organisations that feel they could benefit from similar types of training.
